Siglos Karaoke Pro crash in Vista

Post by kalakasan »

I have the latest version of Siglos Karaoke Pro installed with these components:

Gigabyte MicroATX motherboard
2 gb ram
Vista Ultimate 32bit
External Seagate usb drive(karaoke media files installed)

I am able to create a database from the external drive when in the KJ mode, but in the non-KJ mode, when I attempt to add a directory from the external drive, Vista displays an error - "Siglos has stopped responding," and generates error data (not a BSOD). I am able to close Siglos, but am very frustrated that I am unable to use a program that cost me $100 of my hard-earned money.

This error did not occur with earlier versions of the software. I can provide error codes if necessary. Thank you.

I'm sorry that you are having problems with our software.

So the same files play in KJ mode, and not in basic mode? Does it happen only if you add a directory, or playing single songs also causes the error?

Siglos crash in vista

Post by kalakasan »

In both KJ and basic mode, Siglos crashes when attempting to load a single file or a directory - this is from an external seagate freeagent 500gb hard drive. I also attempted to load a file from the internal drive and got the same error. i have downloaded a demo of another karaoke player, and do not have these issues.

Here is the error report from Vista: (In KJ mode, attempting to load a directory)

Same problem here when running 1.2.40 with Vista. Software runs fine on my old XP machine. Siglos Pro crashes usually at the end of a song. All songs I play are in .ZIP format with a single .MP3 and .CDG file inside. There is no pattern to the crashes, sometimes it will play for an hour, sometimes five minutes. It is not any particular song either. I have noticed that when it crashes, the memory usage reported for Siglos Pro in Task Manager spikes to over 100,000KB. It normally runs between 20,000KB and 65,000KB. I'm sure it is a Vista problem... Any tips or tricks to get Vista stable with Siglos Pro?

Thanks,

We are investigating this. Is there a chance you can send us a log file of the crash? To this:

1. Run the program
2. Click in the program main window
3. Press Ctrl+Shift+L
4. Message "Log enabled" should appear
5. Restart the program and use it in usual way.
6. When it crashes go to My Documents (or Documents on Vista) -- you will find "sigloslog.txt" file there. Please email it to us.

Log files sent. Looking forward to getting this figured out!
