Question about bad graphics
I'm using a Sony CRX-140E. I noticed that when I rip CDGs made by "Sing It Now" that there is a little garbage when using the powerkaraoke cd+g pro player and powerkaraoke cd+g filter demos. Has anyone else noticed this? This doesn't happen with Sweet Georgia Brown or Essential Karaoke CDGs. Do you think my "Sing It Now" discs are really bad? I'm using originals. I don't have a dedicated karaoke player yet but I'm curious to see what happens with a standalone player.
This seems to only happen on certain vocal tracks of the "Sing It Now" discs. Anyone else have this problem? Does this mean my Sony CRX-140E is going bad or is not fully CDG compatible?
I'm using the following "Sing It Now" CDGs.
POP Karaoke January 2004
Urban Karaoke January 2004
Here is the "Sing It Now" website

You know, I apologize for the first paragraph with the words Microstudio. I sent them the same info in a thread. I guess I forget to remove their words and put powerkaraoke instead. (I have edited the fist paragraph and put your product in the sentence) Hopefully, when the Plextor from Newegg arrives, I won't see anymore artifacts. Oh yeah, I just ordered a PX-W5224TA. I couldn't afford a 716A and I already have a Pioneer A05 and felt that I didn't need two dvd burners. I'll let you guys know when it arrives and if I get the same artifacts on the same songs. If I get the same artifacts, would it be possible to have a bad original disc or maybe something with my pc. I currently have a Sony CRX-140E in a windows 2000 machine. I'm tempted to install the CRX-140E in my xp machine just to see what happens.
Yes, I pretty much get artifacts in the same song on a few Demos I've tried. I took a chance and ordered an older Plextor from Newegg.
The W5224. The software works, but I just getting some artifacts. I'll do a print screen and show you.
I've used the power cd+g pro and power cd+g filter demos. Both give artifacts on this particular song.
I saved this print screen in jpg format so it will look kinda funny but you can see what I mean about the artifacts.

Please try using lower burn speed when burning CDs. Also many karaoke players are picky when it comes to playing CD-R discs, so please try using different brand of discs (we recommend using audio-dedicated CDs, ideally with silver recording surface).
Also you may try using lower read speed when ripping karaoke CD+Gs.
Power CD+G Player Pro and Power CD+G Burner use advanced error correction methods to fix read errors. To my knowledge any other software does it.

I meant to tell you that the above picture is from an original karaoke cd+g. I guess it must be my Sony CRX-140E. I play the same disc with my Pioneer A05 and it's perfect using the pro cdg player. I mean perfect. I'm tempted to try and remove the Sony from my windows 2000 desktop and try it in my xp desktop to see if I get the same artifacts. I'm just so happy that the Pioneer works!
Well, I just ordered Power CD+G Burner. I don't have a dedicated player yet but I just couldn't wait until Nov. to order this software. I plan on purchasing a player in Nov. for a party in Dec. I can at least rip the CDGs to my hard drive. I'm kinda scared to burn any copies since I don't have the player to test them. This was the best $39 spent on computer software!
