lyrics RACE away, after the first 30 seconds

I'm creating a duet in CDG Creator (standard, not Pro), and while it plays back perfectly in Creator, when I render it to cdg or bin, the file plays fine for about the first 30 seconds, and then the rest of the lyrics for this 4 minute song RACE across the screen, completely out of sync, leaving the screen totally blank for the last 3 minutes.

What causes this, and how can I fix it?

I think I figured it out. I had somehow "erased" the sync, past the first 30 seconds. I'm redoing it now.

I'm making it a point to save, repeatedly, in the process of creating a swipe.
