Midi files in SKP .27 with Windows 8
Midi files worked fine with SKP with Windows 7 32 bit. New laptop has Windows 8 32 bit. Lyrics display, but no sound. If I play the midi file with another program (Winamp, Van Basco) it plays fine. Also plays fine in Karaoke Video Creator.
Problem Solved
The fix was to re install Windows 8 and install Windows Media Player first. Apparently. installing Coolsoft Virtual Midi Synth first caused a conflict.
