Rotation

Post by gjjolly »

When singers are added to the rotation list they would be
auto assigned ascending prefix number to show their position
in rotation, this would show if the original rotation is in order
and if not allow it to be easily reordered. This prefix should
not show in the announcement.

Prefix # auto generated by program
Orginal rotation.......................Played rotation

(01) Elaine Smith....................(01) Elaine Smith
(02) Bob Web.........................(05) Bobby Hurley
(03) Jimmy White....................(02) Bob Web
(04) Mary Ann.........................(04) Mary Ann
(05) Bobby Hurley...................(03) Jimmy White

I use this now by renaming the singer in edit singer when adding them, then rename them back to just the name later (next day).

Why would you need to change the rotation order?

If I Had the choice original rotation would never change but if you use either yellow star button in Rotation or the one in Playlist Siglos reorders the rotation, which is OK but I want to put them back in orig rotation at the end of the round. The other program I use any song or singer can be used simply by double clicking it and the rotation remains unchanged.

So adding a 'push' functionality (so the selected singer/song gets to the top of the queue without rearranging the rotation) would work?

Or 'Rotation memory' would be better, so you could store the rotation order and revert to it whenever you want to?

Myself I would prefer adding a 'push' functionality (so the selected singer/song gets to the top of the queue without rearranging the rotation). Presets can be used to store rotation memory but you lose the songs entered after the last preset was made and you can't see the complete list of singers and its hard to find out which songs were lost.
An example of the need for this: Commander of Legion loves to sing but busy when the rotation comes to him, he writes our check so I work him in whenever he's free.
