New build is up. It allows to change interface color and you can set image as a welcome page header.

Piotr, one question for you.

In the future will the kiosk portion become an additional cost or will it always be free and a part of KP? I know some hosting software make their kiosk part an additional expense. Just wanted to know before we start spreading the word about KP and its awesome kiosk features.

Piotr, I like the new enhancements to KP's kiosk feature. The only problem I see is the display on a cell phone. The three icons on the top is cutoff in version 23. The icons are displayed correctly on my browser.

Version 22's display on my iPhone looks like:

It will be included in the price. We have not added many features in the last year and a half, so I think of it as a reward for our customers.

I will check what is wrong with the top icons.

Thanks for the reply Piotr. The kiosk feature is an excellent add-on to KP and we'll be able to pass on the info to those that are interested in purchasing a top-notch hosting program. What you offer for free other companies charge their users.

Love the new features!

For the visualisations, I tried Aeon from soundspectrum but it doesn't work, G-Force does but aeon is kinda the successor. But I guess for Aeon its only a WMP plugin (which is noted that some may not work) where g-force was still available as .svp

Singers with the same names and existing singers in the dB..

Post by AbsoluteDJ »

I've been watching, waiting and now testing the new kiosk functionality. I love all the hard work that all of you have been putting into making SKP better each and every day!

Here's my question: Let's say i have a singer that's been a regular with an extensive history named John C. Let's say he'd like to add to his existing history in the database and he doesn't have a secret number yet.
Can he add a song to his existing history?

Never mind I found the Secret Code/Remote Request PIN Number box in the edit singer properties dialog.

I've noticed they need to put a number in to send the request. Is this necessary for a casual singer? Should we just tell them to use a Zero or something if they dont care about their history?

Thanks
AbsoluteDJ
John

Keep up the good work Piotr and Team Siglos!!!!

To keep things simple and easy to remember I tell my singers to use the number 1. This way no one will have to remember a specific number.

Piotr, in the remote queue history if I right click on a singer's name and select remove, nothing happens. Should this action remove the singer's name from the remote queue history list?

i am having the problem of not being able to match singers again.
no matter how many times i go through request details > match singer, it never takes.
also, i like the interface options, but the text also needs a color option. black text on a black background doesn't work to well lol.

For when you have multiple versions of a song

Post by AbsoluteDJ »

Is it possible for Siglos to prompt The KJ to choose a version of the song as to the remote request que just picking one?

Also is it possible to not show the singer rotation/que to the patrons on their phones?

Thanks

Yes, you may choose to merge duplicates, KJ picks the version.

And yes, you may disable queue in Remote Queue settings.

AbsoluteDJ
in the "Remote Queue Settings" there is a check box "Pause when song has duplicates". this will stop it from automatically adding and allow you to open in add singer and pick the version you want.

********** Piotr *********
right click on the request and selecting "open in add singer" brings up the singers history, but we then have to search the song as normal. Can the script be set to also add the song and artist in the global search field?
this will, with just that click, show us all the versions available automatically so all we have to do is select the one we want.

AbsoluteDJ
at the moment, not in the way you are thinking, BUT...
in the "Remote Queue Settings" at the bottom there is a box "At Most ____Songs". if you put that number at 1, it will only show who is currently singing and not the rest of the rotation (so like if you want to shuffle things around without them noticing, this would allow that).

********** Piotr *********
is it possible to have the buttons on the interface be selectable? like the resolution effects are each selectable in the "display" dialog, just have a check box for each button to show or not as that host would use for their needs.

one more suggestion, like the "most popular" list, could there be a button for "just added" to show songs added within the last XX days? for example, my current system shows all songs added in the last 30 days clicking that button. this button is used every day and is the first button many of my singers click first to find something new.

On the Remote Queue Display uncheck the "Auto Add" on the bottom left. When the request pops up on the "Remote Queue list", right click on the singer's name and select "Open in Add Singer."

What version are you using?

In version 22 on the "Remote Queue Settings" window, uncheck the "Display Queue" box. I just noticed that this feature is no longer available in version 23.
