problem using usb to audio converter

when i use a usb to audio adaptor with karaoke pro it will only play the first song either a background song or a karaoke song with the music then i have to shutdown the program and restart it and it will play one more and then no sound from the rest. I downloaded the karaoke player it iworks just fine. hope you can help. all the music plays just fine when i use wmp to play music. Hope you can help. Would hate to through a perfectly good computer away.
