Which DVD drive is compatible with Powerkaraoke and Siglos?

Post by pcdoctor »

Hello Adam.
When I first ordered the software, tech support would state which dvd drives would work with the software. Do you think you could create a list or have current customers state which DVD drives they have that work with the software? Basically, potential users would know what cd or dvd drives work. I might have just thought of my own answer. I guess a user could try the trial software and see what happens with it.

The problem is that there are so many drives out there it is impossible for us to test them all. We usually recommend Plextor or Pioneer, LiteOn and BenQ should also work fine. There are problems with HP drives, also some LG (Matshita) do not work well.

Matshita drives and HP

I have an HP zv6000 with a MatshitaAUJ-840D dvd drive. Has anyone found a workaround for this combo. The player won't load from this drive. Sees everything as .cda. Thanks.

Just a guess but most likely your dvd drive isn't CDG compatible. It thinks the karaoke cd is just a regular music cd.

Matshitas are usually bad news -- usually they do not support CD+G. I have no clue why companies like HP are putting them into laptops.
