What video card are you using? Is this in a laptop computer?

To install a dual display card such as ATI 9600, 8500 or 7500 or NVidia, read the manual that came with your card.

Always plug your TV monitor in and turn it on before turning your computer on. If not, your dual display card will come up in single-display mode.

If your card has an s-video output, you need an inexpensive s-video to VHS converter. Radio Shack has them.

With multiple monitors, one will be your Primary display (for you to operate by) and the other your Secondary display (for singers).

When running an ATI card on Windows XP Home, set your card to Extended Desktop Mode, not Clone Mode, which mirrors the pc display.

Enabling/Disabling the Secondary Display for ATI cards:

1. Access the Windows Control Panel, and double click Display

2. Click on the Settings tab and then the Advanced... button

3. Click on the ATI Displays tab (only appears if you have an ATI card installed)

4. Click the enable/disable button for the display device you want to enable/disable.

5. Click OK or Apply to save the changes.

6. IMPORTANT NOTICE: With Windows XP Home, an ATI card must be set (read the manual) to Extended Desktop Mode, not Clone Mode, which mirrors the pc display.

7. ALWAYS turn on and plug in your TV monitor to the dual-display video output before running Siglos Karaoke Player/Recorder. If not, your dual display card will come up in single-display mode.

Hello,

I am using a desktop, and I am utilizing the video from my pc's mother board. Sounds like I should purchase an ATI Card. I would appreciate feedback on which of the cards that you mentioned would you recommend.

Thanks again,

To be able to output to TV your video card should have S-Video output.

i use what is called a "Corio Eclipse" distributed by TvOne. Yes these little boxes are expensive but the extra features you gain from it is huge!!

basicly what it does is gets your monitor signal and converts it to a normal video signal, but still lets you plug your monitor in so you can view it yourself. you can also at a press of the button fade the image on and off on the tv screen while still viewing it on your monitor. it will also let you run a video signal into it as well (during breaks i sometimes play just normal music dvd's to screen).

It does a few other features that are cool too. one of which is Awesome! In Siglos i set the background to black. and the eclipse removes the black background and replaces it with any video signal you put into it. so with a video camera at shows you can have the words on screen as well as video of the singer singing in the background.

Since i've got this little box my life has been so much easier!! Yes it costs a bit but once you get past that fact life is a dream!!

the model is a CS-450 Eclipse - Google it some time!
