Pro and Player

Post by Neddy »

I have downloaded both the Siglos player and the Pro. I have notices that the Full screen mode doesn't work properly on the pro. Pressing f does make it full screen but the control panel is not hidden.
I really just need a CD+G player but I like the fact that you can eliminate the spaces at the front and end of the track and that it starts when the music starts. Of course this feature is only in the Pro and not the player.
Any comments.

Bugs in Siglos Professional Karaoke

Post by jlibster »

Okay a odd few bugs to point out, the first two only apply to AVI files:

If you use avi files (in my case I was trying to use avi files generated from cd+g disks using VocoPro, a notebook hard drive with Power Karaoke CD+G software built into flash memory) the following problems occur:

1. Lyrics don't show in Pro mode For a professional KJ that is bad news.

2. Preview with Host title and singer name doesn't refresh if screens are drawn across it. that is a bit scary

If I use files types that are karaoke specific, like CDG files the above problems go away.

The following bug happens regardless of what file format you use:

3. It you display the singer/song details window (small) and change the pitch and hit "apply", it doesn't change the pitch.

Any work arounds, or fixes coming up for this? I realize that avi files are not generally karaoke specific but for some reason the files on a VocoPro drive I'm trying to copy over were all avi so I had hoped I could copy them over and link the database. I can't use the database on avi files because if I go to "pro" mode, the first two bugs occur which makes the system useless. I suppose if I reimported the original CDG cds it would work, but that will take some time for the KJ I'm helping to use this software he may decide to just use the basic player, but that removes a HUGE advantage this software has over the CAVS software, and gives the CAVS package one advantage: which it has no singer list and the interface is clunky to say the least, it can at least allow a simple song title to file lookup to add a song to the cue (in its Visual Basic looking que list). The intro screens are GREAT and the KJ loves that but he can forgo that if we can get the database link to work with AVI files somehow

I really like what I see, I'd just like it to do a little more with AVI files. If there is a quick fix. GREAT!! if not, I can see about reimporting the files from the original cds but that is a LONG task. Aside from AVI files from VocoPro (again these work if I don't use the "pro" features) its great so far. The 3rd bug I suspect is an oversight so please fix it or explain why it can't be fixed right away. it can confuse some people. Thanks.
