Constant Runtime Error

Post by hornet59 »

Piotr or Adam

I emailed you a log for my Karaoke Pro. It's been crashing a lot lately and I hope you can tell me why. I am currently using windows 10 with KP v2.0.31

I hope they have a fix for this. Mine happens after 5 or 6 songs consistently.

Is anyone else experiencing this problem besides Paradigm and myself?

jkust started using windows 8 and on task manager it shows system interrupts. when Siglos is running those vary between 10% & 30% cpu usage. when Siglos is closed, it goes to a constant 2%. system interrupts are when software tries to do something but can't, so something is going on there and i wonder if the runtime error is connected to Siglos causing these interrupta.

Well I decided to uninstall SKP completely. Cleaned out all traces of SKP in the registry. I reinstalled SKP and Lo and Behold SKP is running smooth as the first day I installed it. I checked the system interrupts and it's running between 0.0% to 0.2%. Now I'm a happy camper!! Not sure what was causing my constant runtime error, but it is totally gone now. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it won't ever come back!

One additional thing I had to do was run the default script to get the scrolling message. Not sure why the scrolling message area disappears but at least the default script will bring it back!

you had to run the script on a fresh install? that's odd.

Ok, so what exactly did you do to remove all traces from the registry? I'm going to try it myself whatever you did and see if I get the same result.
Something is very wrong, the sings that have been done are not even showing blue all the time. I can open and add a sing and there are no blue sings even one that I can see is in this person's last to do next. Then next time I open it...blue add it should be.

Now just to make things weirder...
I have a song...saginaw Michigan by lefty frizzell, it would crash the program everyone I tried to load it...Not play...load it. It played fine on my home pc with vista, and another laptop with 7, but not on my production machine.
Fast forward to now. New computer with 8, fresh install of siglos, I can load that sing, but it won't play and siglos stops responding. Have to close through task manager. But that same file plays on other pc's fine.

Paradigm, I used a program called IObit Uninstaller, it's a free uninstaller that will also search for anything that is left over after the uninstall. Once I completely uninstalled KP, I reinstalled it and when I noticed the scrolling message was missing, I ran the default script and now SKP seems to be playing like how it should. I think Piotr and Adam need to really look at SKP and fix all of these bugs. It is really starting to annoy me.

thanks Hornet. i am getting annoyed as well. i see them post on other threads on this forum (including one right above this thread) but not answering us anymore. i thought we have done a lot to not only get word out about this software but sit here and help others through problems so they don't have to and can focus more on coding. not sure why we are being forgotten, but i will say i'm less mad than hurt by it.

well, i tried it but no love. i even did the reg script as well just to be sure. when Siglos is closed, 0.5-2.0 on system interrupts, Siglos running and it jumps from 10-20%. as soon as i close Siglos it drops back to 0.5-2.0%. something in Siglos is pissing it off, but i can't find it to save my life.

Not sure why your system interrupts jumps up so much. Mine does not change.

So you ran the IObit Uninstaller and you also ran the deep scan to clear out the registry? Reinstalled KP and you're still having the same problem? That is so strange.

Piotr and Adam we are begging you to help find the cause of the problems. I know you received my log when my KP was giving me problems yet you haven't said a word since then. What's going on guys??
