Convert CD+G disks to MP3+G file, zip & store on hard dr
I am considering purchasing your Power CD+G Burner software. It was suggested to me to use with my Sax-n-Dotty Show Presenter and my Winamp MP3 player (w/ karaoke plugins) to convert my CD+G disks to MP3+G format. I'll be saving these MP3+G files to my external hard drive and want to conserve space. Since the Sax-n-Dotty Show Presenter supports zipped MP3+G files, I was wondering, can I also zip the MP3+G file with Power CD+G Burner for saving my external hard drive? Thanks, Darlene

Is there a preferred Zip software I should use to zip the MP3+G files before saving them to my external hard drive or will any zip program work (ie: Win Zip)? Are there any free Zip programs available or can you recommend a good one that's reasonably priced?
Thanks for helping this rookie,

Will the zipped file be Ripped to CDG+MP3 before it's zipped? Also, I have now downloaded the trial version of Power CD+G Burner to see if it'll work for me and am I having problems. The software has selected a device to read my CD+G files called "MATSHITADVD-RAM UJ-850S" I have tried several times to RIP my CD+G disk to MP3+G by selecting "CDG+MP3" as my output format as instructed. It seems like it rips, but I am not getting the MP3 part. Instead I get one file identified as type "CDG" and another file identified as type "Winamp Media File". When I attempt to play either one of these I get no sound nor graphics. I do get just sound when I play my original CD+G disc. I read some of your troubleshooting suggestions and tried them but I'm still getting the same results. Perhaps the device selected is not CD+G capable? Perhaps there's a way of selecting my CD drive as the device? (couldn't figure out a way to do that) If I send you a copy of the CDGblog from the Power CD+G folder, can you tell what is going wrong from that detail? Thanks for your help.
RAW 96 DAO must be supported for your drive.
Your drive's specs:
Manufacturer MATSHITA
Model DVD-RAM UJ-850S
Supported Writing Method: [DAO/SAO] [RAW SAO] [RAW SAO+SUB] [DVD DAO]
BURN-Free supported: [BurnProof]
Best Writing Speed:
Supported Media: [CD-R] [CD-RW] [DVD-R] [DVD-RW] [DVD+RW] [DVD+R] [DVD-RAM]
As you can see, it is not listed as a supported format. Most (if not all) Matshita drives cannot do rip or burn CD+G. Your drive lacks the internal workings to read and write CD+G disks.
Your other CDRom may be able to read properly. You can select it from the drop down menu at the top of the Rip page. Oh well... Happy shopping!

My CD drive is not listed in the dropdown menu at the top of the rip drive. The only thing on the list is the MATSHITADVD-RAM UJ-850S. Is there another place I can set my CD drive as the default or preference? If not, is there a recommended drive I should purchase? If so, will that drive be installed like software (as in print drivers) so that It can be downloaded, or will it be an external device? Thanks agaon, Darlene

OK, I checked my System Properties under Device Manager, and the Matshita DVD-RAM UJ 850S is the only drive listed. So I guess I need a different drive. So, we're back to my second question in my last reply as to what I need to purchase. Thanks
