Please enter a number between 0 and 1000 - error in Karaoke

Post by Steven »

Hi all! My first time in the forum!

This is phased as an e-mail to Doblon's support, but I thought I'd post it here as well and see if anyone else has hit this snag....

"I was about to purchase/register Siglos Karaoke Pro version 1.2.74, but I've run into a problem with the program -- was testing the demo, which I'd already downloaded and installed.

I have an error message popping up whenever I try to leave the KJ screen under Settings. The popup says "Please enter a number between 0 and 1000". It does not say what field wants that number, but every field that takes a number already has one inside that range of 0 to 1000. I may have inadvertently changed the Preview Screen Update Speed to 0, not sure that was the original default setting, but even so 0 is in the range of 0 to 1000, and I've tried numbers in between. I've tried changing numbers in all the fields that take them, but I still get a popup saying "Please enter a number between 0 and 1000" when I try to save the settings and go to any other settings category such as Display or any of the others. I CAN click CANCEL to leave Settings altogether, but then any changes I made under Settings are lost!

I'd already had an earlier demo version of Siglos Karaoke Pro installed - version 1.2.40. I'd downloaded that some time ago when I purchased Power CDG Player Pro and CDG Burner Pro. I've stuck to using Power CDG Player Pro until now, but finally decided to make the switch to Siglos Karaoke Pro. I installed 1.2.74 to a different folder, and kept 1.2.40 for comparison. I'd been back and forth running them both for comparison, and both had worked fine earlier, including the KJ tab under Settings.

After the error popup started in 1.2.74, I exited it and reloaded 1.2.40 -- and to my surprise the same error popup now occurs under KJ under Settings for the older version!!! It never did that before.

Hope you can explain what to do about this "Please enter a number between 0 and 1000" message. I'm hesitant to purchase the activation code while the demo isn't working! I can send screen shots if it helps, but didn't want to send attachments you wouldn't be expecting - just let me know.

Love your products by the way. I've been hosting shows for 3 years with Power CDG Player Pro, and I purchased Power CDG Burner and found it the best program for ripping my discs to hard drive after trying out everything else available!

Thanks for any help,
Steve

Please try running this registry script:

http://www.powerkaraoke.com/download/si ... efault.reg

It should revert all settings to default.
Steven

That did it - Thanks!

Try changing [number of singers to show] to 10 or less

Did that, but still got the same message. The ONLY bits of the 'settings' that don't have numbers, is the

'Skip silence at the beginning of the song' and the

'Skip silence at the end of the song'...

Both of those are currently un-ticked/not selected, as is 'Show remaining song time instead of current position'...

Would those being 'un-ticked' be the possible issue?

Thank you for your response by the way.

Also, would you recommend a particular setting for those currently 'un-ticked' boxes?

Thank you

Thanks gjjolly. Still haven't figured out how to deal with the initial issue though.

Yes we clicked the link but we just got a page with this message

" Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Doblon\Siglos Karaoke Professional] "

The thing is, we don't know how to utilise this information, or how to add it to what we've got?

We just get "Please enter an integer between 1 and 100" when we press "OK" on the Display menu. And it's that same message that we've had throughout.

Sorry for the constant questions, but when one spends money on something, it would be beneficial if it could actually be used, lol

You need to save the file on the hard drive using File -> Save command in your internet browser, and then run it.

I had this error for ages.... Until I realised its the settings that you can alter to reduce the silence at the start and end of the track. Once I set those to a different number it stopped giving me the error message.
