Slide Show for Inactive Background

Post by guitarra vieja »

I'd like to see an option for the Inactive Background to have a rotation of graphics, similar to the Background one.

Reason for this is that we have lots of marketing messages and/or announcements that we would like to get the the customers and the best time that we have their attention is right between songs.

We are using the scrolling message and an Inactive Background that has shown results, though we would like to change the messages now and then (I know, I can just do it manually, but in my situation, I am putting on a show and others singing is a secondary, which leaves me little time for messing with the backgrounds).

I tried to use .gif files, which might work as an active file, but I think the program would only load it from the start every time, not play in the background like a slide show hopefully would.

What I have done is to create a slide show that is running in the background and then just hit the monitor button to reduce the singer's screen - works (kind of), but again, timing is an issue (and also there is a 'pop' in the music when I do it) and it detracts from my show when I turn to face the computer to mess with it while I'm singing (maybe one day I can get a helper.... ;)

I understand the memory requirements and techie issues of this request, though today's computers should handle it - mine handles running the Pro version as well as Open Office (and the various other background stuff that just runs).

Having this feature should benefit many KJs - you can work out a deal with your host to place ads in that space (and/or sell that 'time' to others).

This sounds interesting if it doesn't eat up a lot of memory and slow the program down to the point of causing troubles.
