text starts overlaying / getting scrambled late in the song

Converted CDG to mp3g. Songs start out looking great, but after a while the text is scribbled or laying on top of each other.

looks like either the disc has some light scratches (KIT Scratch Out works amaxing for fixing discs), the drive is tempermental (had that before myself), or your rip speed may be too high for the hardware. i rip at 4x max. if i am only doing one or two discs i will do it at 1x and go do something else.
